After a few more dates with Steve I was starting to warm up to the idea of dating him, and then he stopped calling and asking me out. I assumed that he lost interest because I was so slow to respond to him. I continued to see him once in a while on BYU campus, but was so sure that I had scared him off; I avoided him, so as not to incur any more embarrassment to myself. This continued for about two years and then I stopped seeing him on campus and assumed that he gotten married and moved on with life. I finished up my education at BYU in another two years and accepted a graduate position at North Carolina State University (NCSU), to start fall semester in 2001. After settling into life in Raleigh, NC. I received an email from Steve (who was still in Utah), inquiring about my life and what lead to my move to NC. We began emailing and in the process, I found out that he didnt marry and contrary to what I previously believed, I didnt scare him off, in fact he seemed to still be quite interested in me. I mentioned that I would be in Utah for Christmas and we could get together then and catch up. He one upped me on that and offered to pick me up at the airport and then take me to the symphony the following day. I was more than flattered; I was quite taken by him.
